I'm back!!!

Howdy. I'm back and madder than ever!!!

The Gulf coast was warm and sunny and the fishing was great. Now that the primary is one month away it's time to start commenting again.

Meuser's taking a beating from Hackett and it won't be long before he starts firing back - boy it's gonna get UGLY!!! Looks like Hackett just blew it for the republicans in the 10th. WAY TO GO CHRIS!

On to the Presidential race. Here we have two libs promising to raise taxes by $15 billion and who they're targeting may be surprising. FOX NEWS reported that Obama and Hillary are targeting the poor and middle class with their tax increases. Wonderful. In the meantime we have some schmuck from Arizona who *oops* called himself a conservative liberal republican who is getting pounded by the same campaign reform law that bears his name refused to make the Bush tax cuts permanent and can't make a stand on illegal alien reform. It doesn't matter who's getting in the White House our country is screwed. America it's time to bend over and break out the ky jelly.

Hello,
Nice blog! I think you are right about Meuser. He is so sick of Hackett telling the truth that he will start with the mud. He can not attack with truth since Hackett is clean so he will get down in the hog pen and start throwing mud.
Best wishes,
Barry O'Connell

You're dead right about Hackett. He blew it. He should have just kept doing what he was doing and show he's a respectable person. Someone gave him some bad advice. I'm angry at whoever screwed up his campaign. Oh well. It was fun but now we're stuck with Meuser.

Ease up on the tax rhetoric. It makes Republicans look dumber to the general public. Those who are wealthy pay less in taxes than you do Eddy. Capital gains are taxed at 15%. Now that the economy is shot people will invest overseas with that money and get a tax break from the government for it.

There has to be a real solution for this quandary before the Jimmy Carter Version 2.0 implements his version of a socialist "utopia".

The lowest capital gains rate anyone pays right now is 10% thanks for President Bush's tax cuts who our distinguished candidate failed to make permanent. AMT is another issue that's screwing the middle class. The current tax code is structured to keep people where they are on the economic ladder. That's why there's no marginal tax rate between 15% and 25%. Once you're in the 28% AMT sets in and you don't have a prayer in hell of diving out of a nasty tax bill unless you have a good CPA who can complicate your taxes for you.

Of course I should not talk about tax issues. I only used to have a tax practice (until some young whippersnapper kicked my *ss all over the pavement).

Honestly the only solution to making the tax code more "fair" is one that is not feasible because politicians have their hands in the cookie jar and they won't want to change that. The only alternative we have is to begin finding candidates we can all believe in and get behind.
